{leftovers galore}

We had a TON of leftovers after Thanksgiving this year (as in, thanks to there being 2 turkeys and a ham at Thanksgiving dinner, we got to keep our entire 18 lb turkey for leftovers!). So now I'm on the hunt for some yummy leftovers recipes. Here are some I want to try:

I think for lunch today we'll do turkey sandwiches with leftover cranberry sauce spread. Mmm! Do you have any go-to recipes that use leftovers in a new way?

I'm making green beans and rolls for Thanksgiving dinner at the in-laws. I came across this Martha recipe for green bean casserole, and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. I think it will be a nice alternative to the canned soup variety! Do you have any Thanksgiving favorites?

I saw this cookbook while browsing Anthropologie yesterday and thought it looked amazing. Simple recipes in plain English (!) with beautiful pictures to boot. The $40 price tag made me shy away from it, but then I found it on Amazon for almost half the price. It just might make it onto my Christmas shopping list....

Pumpkins again, but this time not as a food... sorry!

We're going to a fall festival tomorrow, and my task for the day is to decorate a pumpkin to enter into their pumpkin decorating contest. I was super excited about it (I love decorating pumpkins!) but then I remembered that I've never tried to do something so challenging with an 8 month old in tow... so I had to tone down my original idea. I was going to attempt one of those adorable owls from Martha Stewart.

I'm going to go with something that involves no pumpkin guts instead. I kept having visions of me covered in pumpkin when Emma decides it's time to have an "Emma dilemma" as we've come to call her blowouts. So I've decided that I'm going jump on the chalkboard bandwagon... it should be lots of fun!

These stuffed baguettes from Baking Obsession would be such a great snack at a picnic or for after church. This one is filled with goat cheese, cream cheese, sun dried tomatoes, olives, salami, bell pepper, and fresh herbs.  Doesn't it look delish?
